I don't want this to seem attention-whorry or look like the need for attention. I just felt the need to let people know about what I'm going to do.

With the deterioration of this site and the addition of more and more drama, as well as my increased workload in school, I've decided this site is no longer for me. I know I've said I'm retiring for a while before, but this time we're serious. The password will be changed and I am leaving for good.

The only thing that was keeping me at this site was the platform of being able to write. The whole time I was looking else where for places to write and I've recently started writing at as well as I'll likely be opening up a new website to write for things like my NFL Drafts and other miscellaneous writings.

I've also connected with most people outside of FanNation and can continue those friendships away from here.

For anyone who wants to add me via Facebook or anything else, the name is Jacob Rude for those that don't know. Search me on Facebook or just put the url, which should take you directly to my page.

I don't want to get into individual thank-yous because there's been a lot. I appreciate all the well wishes through the years and all the friendships made. I'll hang around for just a couple more days to say some goodbyes and save some works to my computer, then it's adios.

And remember, folks... you can see Rude in the flesh along with myself and Ethan Calof every Sunday evening for our weekly podcasts. Stay tuned at Twitter (@zbigalke)...

As for you, Rude, it's been a pleasure getting to know you here at FanNation. For what it's worth, for all the flaws this site has had essentially since I joined back on that fateful day in 2007, it certainly has fostered some lasting friendships. Good luck and we'll certainly be in touch... after all, we've got a collaboration to continue! ;)

You're making the right decision. I'll be joining you on the "other side" shortly. I would wish you happy trails, but as Zach said, we've still got work to do.

All the best, Rude.
And may your 2011 FanNation Blogger of Year Award be just the first of many sports journalism honors in your future trophy case.

Bye sweetie, I will miss you!

Take it easy, Rude. Keep writing.
