Not to disparage his abilities or his achievements, Kevin Love is a very good player, but he is not as good as many have portrayed him to be. Sure he leads his team in points and rebounds per game, but that can be correlated to the number of shots he takes on offense???18.6 per game???the most on the team. Despite scoring close to 26 points per game???4th in the league???Love is not that efficient as he shoots less that .450 from the field which is really unimpressive for a player who supposed to get most of his points in the paint. As for his stellar rebounding numbers, one has to ask the question: would he be able to score as many points or grab as many rebounds if he were on any other NBA team? Most of his rebounds can be attributed to the fact that the majority of them come from the offensive end as his team are one of the worst teams in the league in field goal percentage.

The fact of the matter is that Kevin Love is no better of a power forward than Golden State???s David Lee, Phoenix???s Marcin Gortat, Houston???s Luis Scola, or even Orlando???s Ryan Anderson. When Charles Barkley calls him ???the best power forward in the world,??? it is like an insult to power forwards in general because they are so many players better than Kevin Love and that Love would not be even producing as many points or rebounds if he were on any other NBA team than the Wolves. He cannot even himself the team???s best player nor can he claim credit for his team???s improved performance: that player has been already sidelined with a season ending injury leaving Love to essentially pick up the piece which he unfortunately cannot. Even with Kevin Love still playing on that roster, the Wolves will have plenty of trouble staying atop the West without their true star, player, Ricky Rubio. Look for that team to slide down back to lottery territory missing the playoffs for the sixth or seventh time in a row. (Click here to finish reading this post and so much more on JT's Hoops Blog)
