It seems as if the Dallas Mavericks have run out of gas as they had started the season at 14-8 to finish the month of February 7-7 giving Dallas just a 21-15 record. The Mavs started February losing three games in a row???two at home against the Oklahoma City Thunder (2/1) and the Indiana Pacers (2/2) and one on the road against the Cleveland Cavaliers (2/4). Dallas did manage, however, to bounce back from that three game skid by winning the next six on the road against solid competition???they beat the Denver Nuggets (2/8), Minnesota Timberwolves (2/10) and Philadelphia 76ers (2/17) on the road while taking home wins against The Portland Trailblazers (2/11), LosAngeles Clippers (2/13) and the Denver Nuggets for the second straight time (2/15). Unfortunately, the winning did not last as they finished the month of February losing four of their next five game???one of them was quite embarrassing as the Mavs lost at home to the lowly New Jersey Nets by just one point (2/28). From being one of the top teams in the league, the Mavs have slipped down to sixth place in the Western Conference race.

The Mavericks have continued to struggle throughout the month of March winning just two of their first seven games losing rather embarrassing to two of the league???s worst teams???the Sacramento Kings by 13 points (3/9) and the Golden State Warriors by 14 (3/10). In a span of two weeks, the Mavericks went from having a respectable 21-15 record at the end of February to barely holding on to their winning record resting at 23-20. Fortunately for the Mavericks, Dallas did manage to bounce back from their skid as they did the previous month by winning four straight games???three at home and one on the road. Two of those wins came at the hands of two of the worst teams in the league, the Washington Wizards (3/13) and Charlotte Bobcats (3/15), while the other two came against the first place leader of the Southwest Division, the San Antonio Spurs(3/17) and the Denver Nuggets (3/19). Unfortunately, the revelry of their victories was short-lived as the Mavericks got humiliated on their home floor by the Los Angeles Lakers losing by 16 points (3/21)..(Click here to finish reading this post and so much more on JT's Hoops Blog)
