As an avid sports fan watching NBA games as often as they are played I have come to the conclusion that Tim Donaghy was or is not the only ref that deliberately miscalls games . It's hard to believe so many calls can be missed , and bad calls being made when you have a crew chief and two refs working these games . How blind can three blind refs be or does it depend on who's playing ? It appears to be deliberate when you watch the Oklahoma Thunder games and you see Kevin Durant travel , push a defener off with his head and shoulders to get his shots and still get every foul called in his favor , along with his teammates James Harden and Russell Westbrook . On the other hand when I watch the Los Angeles Clippers Blake Griffin get hammered , pushed in the back , and knocked to the floor , and unless you run into him like there's a bounty on him like Jason Smith did the other night and got a flagrant 2 foul called on him Blake doesn't get the calls like Durant and his boys . Why is this ? Blake and his teammates take a worse beating than Wilt Chamberlain took when he dominated the league in years past in order to contain him . Until these referees make it fair across the board I will continue to believe there are certain teams they are getting paid to make sure they get the calls to win their games . I watch enough basketball and see refs looking right at violations and not blow the whistle unless it's someone like Durant and his crew , Kobe , Rose , and Lebron and their crew , who it seems to be a set up for them to win games . Blake takes a beating and he should stand up and beat somebodies butt !

Perfect example tonights game Lakers against Memphis the Lakers must have shot 30 freethrows to 10 for Memphis why is it that the Lakers get to the line more than the Clippers when the are playing ?

NBA refs have been like this since I followed the Suns in the 70's.
Have seen the refs hand a series to the Lakers (in the playoffs vs the Kings) and the Spurs against the Suns.
For the last few years I watch the NBA to see the talent, but its hard to consider it a real sport at times.

I wouldn't go so far as to calling the players gangsters just because the majority of them are not from Europe , Russia , Sweden , and are making millions . The stadiums are pack with fans not of the same communities they grow up in most of the players are athletic and sports was a means of keeping them off the streets away from gangs . Don't blame them for being exploited by mega corporations who are making billions at their expense most of these guys are good guys . Al Capone , John Dillinger , and the likes of Bonnie and Clyde were gangsters . If you want to call somebody in sports a gangster call out Greg Williams and Sean Payton of the New Orlean Saints gangsters they put hits out on players in their league .

According to the 2nd amendment that is an American right. Are you saying its ok for a person who wears a cowboy hat or a Cabelas hat isn't a gangster if they live in a trailer park and carry a gun. People are a product of their environment. Sounds like you are a product of yours. Stop being a bigot.

Maybe Gilbert Areanas walked around with a gun and was dealt with by the league . But to make a broad statement about " they walk around carrying guns " is baseless and ignorant on your part . Are you part of their inner circle , buddies with the players and you know them and the weapons they carry ? Everybody has the right to bear arms in America . Are you saying that Steve Nash , Dirk Nowitzki , Chris Kaman , and Kevin Love carry guns ?

I recognize small problems here and there, but I absolutely love NBA basketball and this lockout-shortened season has been even more fun because of having more games in a short amount of time. It's too bad they don't play 70 games every year and shorten the season by a month.
