Which Professional Sport has the Best Floppers (terrible display of this phenomenon), NBA or FIFA?
For the past several years we have been entertained by the art of flopping in the NBA & FIFA.
Flopping by definition:
2. To move about loosely or limply.
3. Vlade Divac.
Now I am a little bit bias when it comes to the art of flopping and have to say that the NBA has perfected the art of flopping that league Referees have been bedazzeled by this art. NBA Referees feel the need to blow the whistle and call an offensive charge or a seemingly blatant looking foul, awarding the Flopper the benefit of the doubt.
But I have to give FIFA Players their due respect on the art of flopping. Through my small sample of research, I can only conclude that Flopping is a part of the Soccer game and is there to stay unless instant replay becomes available to Referees to review a possible occurance of flopping.
The
NBA and FIFA are 2 very similar sports. Both are non-stop action, a
team oriented game that plays full-court/field, uses passing/assists, without any breaks except
for timeouts, fouls/penalties or injuries. One controls the ball with
their hands and the other with their feet, but essentially the goal is
to put the ball through a target, be it a basket or a netted goal post. I
can see were flopping can be a beneficial skill for both sports!
Does flopping ruin a Sport or increase viewership? MTC

Bonus viewpoint: the NFL should pay extra attention and penalize would be floppers or risk turning a great sport into another professional league of Floppers.

It???s debatable, but I think soccer / FIFA is the clear winner on flopping. Entire teams get into the act for entire matches, many times. I feel for the referees in futbol. They know acting-out injury is common, but dear not turn away for fear that time it???ll be a real injury! It???s ruining the sport. It???s not helping the NBA or NFL either (remember the Giants last season, Week 3 (?)). Good topic.
