NASCAR has just about put a death grip on Kurt Busch, fines, probation and probably keeping an eye on him 24-7, they may even investigate how many sheets of toilet paper the guy used in the Porta-Potty.
The NASCAR media has jumped on this story full SPEED ahead, there hasn't been one NASCAR related show where this has not been one of the feature stories, fair enough, with the "have at it boys era" just about over there isn't much to talk about.
Cursing.. is all about cursing, are we talking about cursing folks, cursing, not killing anyone is just cursing, no crime on cursing folks, really ..is just about cursing.
I want you folks to go on YouTube and search "cursing or cussing in NASCAR" and see how many hits you get, you will find that cussing IS NORMAL, ALL DRIVERS including the most loved driver Earnhardt JR curse, oh my God, shocking.
Mr. Kurt Busch had done nothing more than act like a typical driver, CURSED, THAT IS IT, HE DID NOT HIT ANYBODY OVER THE HEAD WITH A 2x4, he cussed and forgot to click the feed off, that is all.
Have you seen the video of the alleged near running over Newman's crew, by the way if you are a NASCAR fan you will see crew members ALMOST getting run over EVERY RACE, EVERY RACE. so please don't get on that soap box about safety.
I would bet the main NASCAR media could get this story from a different driver EVERY-WEEK, all they would have to do, for the most part , is change the names.
Can we agree on that.
In contrast the NBA will do nothing to Dwyane Wade for his yelling incident with the coach and teammates during last nights game against the Pacers, by the way all this happened on prime time for all to see, NOT HEAR, just see and that might be the whole difference folks.
If there is any punishment for Mr. Wade, it should come from the team and not the NBA, that is what should of happened with Kurt Busch, wonder if Earnhardt Jr. would of gotten the same scrutiny from the media and NASCAR.
Let me just say, JUST GUESSING, they would not touch Jr with a 10 foot pole, or maybe they would, again just guessing. Just saying.
In my opinion having a microphone in the car (for television) is as inappropriate as having one in your bedroom, both should be private, imagine if they mic-up every NBA and NFL game, how long you think that would last.
Is it time to make those conversations private. I think so.
As always this is just a fans opinion and from what I understand everybody has one and I thank God for that.
Enough said.

The most recent penalty is not about Kurt Busch's language, but his ACTIONS on pit road, mainly doing a burnout through another competitor's pit (Ryan Newman) and for running into the back of a competitor's car on pit road after the race (again Ryan Newman). We should not forget that while Kurt did the burnout there were #39 crew members doing work in the pit box. If I remember my physics correctly a 250 lbs man being hit by a 3400 lbs car results in not so good things for the man. And that doesn't even begin to take into account Kurt's shenanigans after the race.
This fine/probation was because of a safety issue nothing more.
And NASCAR has come down on Jr before for swearing. If I remember correctly it was 25 points and $25000 penalty when he said "manure" on live TV after winning his 5th race at Talladega.

I have looked for the video everywhere please tell me where I can find him almost running over the crew.....The lead video on all the reports is the cursing my friend, from day one it has been the media beat... I understand there are other reasons but the main focus is the cursing ..so I'll have to strongly disagree with you my friend...in the media it is about cursing.....can you really say that the cursing had nothing to do with the penalty...On Jr did he get the same scrutiny from the media or NASCAR ...I was not talking about a particular penalty...did he..I don't think so....

You are correct in that there is no real video of the Kurt Busch almost running over the pit crew, but I blame that on the wonderful folks at Fox. In fact in the original broadcast the commentators were saying the incident was from the spin on the back stretch. It wasn't until the next day or even on Monday that the real story came out, and this was from credible sources, the pit crew of both drivers and NASCAR.
Here is the press release from NASCAR about the penalty as posted on Sports Illustrated:
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) Kurt Busch was fined $50,000 by NASCAR on Tuesday for reckless driving on pit road at Darlington and a post-race altercation with Ryan Newman's crew members.
Busch was also placed on probation through July 25 for his actions Saturday night, which began when a flat tire caused him to wreck with six laps remaining in the race.
He headed to pit road for repairs, and as he left, he did a burnout through Newman's pit box. There were crew members over the wall and on pit road at the time, and they complained they could have been injured by Busch's actions.
Busch also ran into Newman's car on pit road after the race, and several of Newman's crew members confronted Busch. NASCAR also placed Newman crew chief Tony Gibson on probation through June 27 for failing to control his team, and crew member Andrew Rueger was fined $5,000 and placed on probation for failing to comply with a directive from a NASCAR official.

NASCAR states the penalty was from the incident on pit road NOT Kurt's language. Now I have seen the clip that you were talking about from Speed about Kurt's cursing, and I agree that was a little excessive from a coverage stand point, but come on he went on a 5 minute tantrum over the incident, and this isn't the first time it's happened. I understand in the heat of the moment people say things that they wouldn't want to say in front of their mothers, but to go off no the crew, crew chief, and NASCAR over the course of 3-4 laps under caution with every other word bleeped for TV that is not cool.

So there is no video ..I assume they are going by word of mouth....my friend that is really important addition to the story......I like to find out who was telling the story ..who did NASCAR interviewed...do you know where I can get to that info....boy this is good stuff...lol..if this was in court it would be hearsay and worth nothing as testimony to make a judgement...lol

I think at least 3 pits worth of crew members from different teams, and at least 3 NASCAR officials constitute credible witnesses to the event. You have to remember NASCAR had an official at every pits box watching the crew, and I am sure the one in Newman's pit at the very least saw what happened.
