I'm siting in front of my computer with a large cup of the best coffee in the world, Colombian Coffee.

After last nights All-Star race without Juan Pablo Montoya it has become obvious to me the only way this guy is going to get back to being considered one of the elite drivers in the world is to get his own sponsor.

Venezuela's Pastor Maldonado showed up at Williams (F1) with a boatload full of sponsor money from Venezuelan oil, Paul Menard has  sponsor money from his family.

Juan Pablo Montoya needs to show up at the doors of an ELITE NASCAR team who needs a new sponsor for an existing team or wants to add a new one.

He needs to bring a zillion coffee bags full of money to the gates of a racing team, Gibbs would have a forth team if he had dollars, even Tony Stewart would add another car if he had the sponsorship, there are other top teams who would take the dollars in a New York minute.

Again he has to go to one of the top five teams, Hendrick or a satellite Hendrick team, Gibbs, Roush-Fenway, Penske.

There may be two good seats available next year, #22 and #20 might be empty if they don't get it done in 2012.

There many possibilities for sponsorship besides Colombian coffee, how about Goya foods, what would be more appropriate, it is said that chips and salsa have forever replaced potato chips and french dip as americas favorite TV watching snack.

There you go Juan and agent, some free advise from al asifyouknow, hey if you use it at least get me a hat and a jacket, heck I work cheap.

Enough said.

I agree. If Montoya is going to become a competitor he needs to align himself with a top tier team. Surprisingly there are plenty of openings on top level teams, all he has to do like you pointed out is bring a sponsor, which sadly I don't think is going to happen anytime soon.

If he were to walk into the sport this year I think sponsors would be falling over themselves to hook up with Juan. He is an international superstar I don't argue that, the at this point though in the U.S. and especially NASCAR world he is bordering on washed up has-been or even worse and never-was. I will not deny he is a great driver, but his NASCAR results do not support such a statement, and in the NASCAR world it is NASCAR results that count. (Feel free to make a Danica comment here.)
