It seems as if every baseball fan and writer has something to say about Tim Lincecum's start to the 2012 season. Things like "His fastball's lost 7 mph." or "He's not throwing his slider." have blown his first 9 starts out of proportion. That being said a 6.04 ERA to start the season is not what the orange and black faithful we're hoping for. So, is it time to start to panic about ol' big time timmy jim. No. A 2 time cy young award winner knows how to pitch the ball effectively, and will turn his 2012 campaign around. Lincecum has had ups and downs through his career, including in '08, '09 (Both Cy Young years), and in the quickly fading 2010 World Series season, and knows how to pitch out of those slumps. But the sports world is judgemental and unforgiving, so a string of more bad starts may cause panic and then demand for change in the rotation from the city by the bay.
