The EPA gets blasted by the National Legal and Policy Center on Fox's business channel for partnering with NASCAR to push Green initiatives.

Mark Modica, a representative for the Policy center said it was ludicrous and that it shows how out of touch the administration is, he also feels this was like an animal activist going to bullfighters for sponsorship.

Mr. Modica apparently feels the NASCAR / EPA partnership is strange due to the fact a race car only gets four MPG.

I personally found Mr. Modica next statement very strange, he felt that NASCAR fans would not trade their Pick-up's and Beer for a Volt and Chardonnay.

I guess he thinks all NASCAR fans drive trucks and drink beer, for the record, I'm a huge NASCAR fan, I don't drink beer or drive a Pick-up.

I assume NASCAR fans are just like the ones from the MLB, NFL or NBA, some drink, some don't, some curse, some don't, some drive pick-up's, some don't, just guessing.

Don't really have an opinion on this but I thought it was a strange interview to say the least, just wanted to share it with you.

Enough said.

This "blasting" is nothing more than the American Political Machine at work. Just doing a quick check on the NLPC, it is a conservative leaning group, and since this is an election year in the US every little detail the government does will be placed under a microscope and posted out of context by both Democrats and Republicans.

Although I find it interesting that a conservative group blasting the move rather then a more liberal group, but that might be happening the fact this was reported on Fox Business I think makes the story subject to some scrutiny. Typically liberals are considered the hippie tree-hugger types.

The representative here is just touting out the NASCAR Stereotype: NASCAR fans are nothing more than drunken rednecks. And like all stereotypes there is some truth to it, and there is a lot of untruths. But the NLPC should remember that most NASCAR fans tend to be on the conservative side of the political spectrum, so implying they are all drunken rednecks is almost like shooting yourself in the foot.

And let's not forget the story from a few years ago, a liberal leaning group was going to go to one of the Talladega races and it was suggested they get vaccinations equal to traveling to a third world country.
