I will keep my blogs short but my memories long. Early memories of my love for baseball and the White Sox started when i was 5 years old back in 1967. My parents were die-hard Sox fans and let me know it right away whaen i made the mistake of cheering an Ernie Banks HR my father stared at me and thought if i want to continue to live in this house you only cheer when a White Sox player hits a HR (which back then was not too often) Anyways I always had some fun memories of my parents and my brother teaching about the game by watching on tv or to listen to games on the radio always enjoyed those special times together with the family.

I go back a decade earlier than you to the era when the Sox were always chasing the Yankees.
When they finally broke through and won the '59 pennant I was lucky enough to be at game 1of the World Series.
I never dreamed i would have to wait 46 years to see them take it all but even in the down years the White Sox could fill my summers.
For many yearsI had to listen to a lot of static on my radio but those memories are priceless.
Have fun with your blog and...Go Sox.

I'm about your age and grew up as a die-hard Giants fan. We both got to celebrate only one WS victory in our lives but the wait made it even more special.
