Speculation is rambant in the blogosphere as to how much revenue the new BCS playoffs will generate and how the money will be distributed. Estimates seem to run around $400 million, and it has been suggested that playoff participation as well as top 25 finishes will factor into the distribution formula.
Assuming those things are true for a moment, equal distribution would result in $3.2 million per team for all 125 teams in the FBS. But it probably won't be equal, will it?
Top money conference? My calculations show it won't be the SEC!
5th place conference? Not the ACC! (they'll be 4th by my calculations).
