Tonight was a great night for Boxing enthusist!
Don't believe me? Well let's look at the winners and losers in this fiasco.
Introducing the winners: Arum, Manny, Bradley and Boxing Nation
Why are they winners? Arum, Manny & Bradley get to do this again and quite possibly do this for a third time, just like Ali-Frazier, the Thrilla in Manila. That's a guaranteed 2 future matches with big pay days! Asia Fans want this, Vegas wants it and so does Boxing Nation.Bradley said, when asked whether he felt he deserved the victory, before alluding the the return bout. "We definitely have to do it again."
They will fight a rematch in November -- Arum said it will happen in Florida, Texas or Nevada -- and Pacquiao said he'll be as motivated as ever.
This was a set-up, a thing of beauty IMO. The only real "Loser", if any, is Floyd Mayweather Jr. Arum has done something close to resembling a brilliant coup. Mayweather has played the same song and dance, teasing Arum and Manny into a fight and than backing out of it. With this Trilogy fight between Manny and Bradley, it takes Mayweather out of the equation. Mayweather no longer fits into Arum/Manny's plans in Boxing, they can move on without ever having to fight him and still make their millions.
This was definitely pre-planned, Boxing has a history of being corrupt. Also why should Manny have to bow to Mayweather's demands? Why go into Boxing if you aren't in it for the money? The evidence is as clear as day and you don't have to use FanMail to make your point heard. If Manny won tonight there would be no need for the drama that unfolded before the fight and bringing out that huge ticket stub - there was a serious motive that was put into play.
Manny is a Boxer who has become a Politician. Like most Politicians, they are good at giving what the people want to hear. A controversy is good for ratings, it builds interest were interest was waning in Boxing Nation. IMO Manny wasn't robbed. There was a plan, a plan that didn't involve Mayweather and Arum and Manny executed it while Bradley will be along for several big paychecks along the way into a 3rd fight. And this last fight could possibly end up in Manila for another Thrilla. Congratulations to Professional Boxing, a well designed plan and perfectly executed IMO.
