Two Australian swimmers are being sent home after the swimming competition ends because of a picture they took while "off duty."  The two men went to a shooting range and then posted a picture of themselves on the internet with some guns.

This is one of the dumbest stories I have ever read and is a prime example of how PC we are, or how the world has evolved into a massive nanny state. It makes no sense that anyone would even complain about it, let alone that these guys would get banned for posting the pictures on Facebook.

1. Going to a gun range is not illegal

2. Posting "normal" pictures on your personal Facebook page is not illegal. I'd love to see a contract or anything in writing that these swimmers have signed, saying that they will not "do" whatever it is that they "did" to warrant a suspension

3. There are shooting events in the Olympics

Part of the reasoning for their ban was that the photographs have "encouraged public debate." Oh my goodness. Not public debate!!! What is there to even debate? If a few people with sticks up their rears complain about these photos, then it's obvious they are just complaining to be heard. Or they're fanatics about gun violence. I cannot see another reason why anyone would even care. I think this ban is ridiculous and the whole thing reeks. We've gotten to the point where if you say or do anything that offends even ONE person, you will end up punished for it. Even if that behavior or comment is completely innocent in no way offensive or illegal.

It's a sad state of affairs we're in today when PC overcomes all else including common sense and personnel freedoms! :^(
