The Memphis Commercial Appeal is reporting that Pau Gasol has been traded to the Lakers for Kwame Brown, Javaris Crittenden, the rights to Pau's brother Marc Gasol and two draft picks. There's also a report that the Grizz have also shipped Stromile Swift to the Nets for Jason Collins. What does this all mean to your fantasy team?
First, Gasol loses a little value playing third fiddle to Kobe Bryant and Lamar Odom, but not enough for you to try to trade him. What he does do is relegate Ronny Turiaf to simply a backup again, unless of course Phil Jackson decides to slide Odom to the three in place of Luke Walton, but that's a longshot.
The Grizzlies are now in total flux. Collins will continue to be a non-factor meaning that Kwame Brown and Darko Milicic will get lots of minutes in the middle and have some (but not a lot of) value the rest of the way. Perhaps the player who'll gain the most value in the deal is Hakim Warrick who has played well in Gasol's multiple injury absences and has a chance to be a pretty spectacular 15 and 7 player the rest of the season. The trade also should mean more minutes for the much improved Kyle Lowry who'll play in a smaller lineup alongside Juan Carlos Navarro, Mike Conley and now Crittenden who has shown short flashes of ability in limited run with L.A.

Lamar will start at SF. Gasol is now the number two option, not Lamar. When Bynum returns, he will be co-no. 2 option with Pau, leaving Odom to be an outstanding role player (rebounding, facilitating and taking high percentage shots). Gasol will get 17 and 8 with the Lakers.
