Pau Gasol has been trade to the LA Lakers in exchange for Kwame Browm, a scrub, and a coulple of first-round draft picks. This trade will help LA stay in the playoff hunt untill Andrew Bynum is back from his injury. And once Bynum returns this will improve LA's post play significantly. Gasol, has been an all-star, and made the playoffs once, is one of the NBA's premier big men, but has not been given exposure since he has not played deep into the playoffs. The Lakers, who still could bring Jason Kidd to Tinseltown, are now serious title contenders.

Now onto last night's action, the TNT double header had two great matchups. The Celtics took on the Mavs in the first game, while the Spurs and Suns renewed their great rivalry in the second game. The Celtics playing without Garnett for the third straight game, narrowly edged out the Mavs on Rajon rondo's offensive rebound, which was put back for the winning bucket.

The Spurs beat the Suns in a close affair that i didn't see much of, Tim Duncan scored a bank shot with 31 ticks left and Manu Ginobli scored 4 late free throws to give the Spurs an 84-81 win.

In a non TNT tilt, the Lakers lost to the Pistons in a thrilling finish. Down 2 with the clock ticking, Tayshaun Prince trained the clucth triple to beat the Lakers in the last game of Kwame Brown's Laker career. Kwame's days appear to be numbered in the NBA, as it looks as if he won't fit in on the young Grizzlies roster.

I wouldn't call Jarvaris Crittendon a scrub...if anyone Kwame Brown is the scrub of this trade. The Lakers now have a rock solid line up. Two talented low post players and one of the best players in the NBA.

Is he a starter, will he contribute significantly to the Grizz? Were all the other pieces in the trade more significant than im. I think the answer is yes to all those questions.

Correction the answer to him contributing significantly to the Grizz is no.

How is there a more significant piece to this trade? Kwame Brown? Not really. Marc Gasol? No he's still in Spain. Either of the first round draft picks? Not right now. Aaron McKie? Didn't even know he was still in the league..so by default he is the best player in the deal
