Although Knick fans realize Steve Nash is still a long shot, although a possible long shot, many Knick fans felt a sense of jubilation last night after realizing that speaking with Nash wasn't the Knick brass doing their "Due Diligence", they actually had a plan.

This morning those same fans feel a sense of fear that the Knicks may be "Poisoned".  If the Knicks are able to pull off the Nash sign and trade, insiders believe Toronto will offer Jeremy Lin a backloaded deal.  A backloaded deal could see Lin make 40 million over 4 years, with the last 30 million coming in years 3 & 4. If the Knicks matched this offer, they could be over the cap in year 2014-1015 with Lin, Melo, Amare and Chandler---ALONE

Lin possibly holds the anectdote to this "Poison". Glen Grunwald has told Lin to test the market and see his market value.  Now if during that same conversation with Grunwald, Lin and Lins' agent, it was agreed upon that Lin would check his market value without signing an offer sheet, bring that info back to Knicks, then work out a deal based on his market value. If Lin, his agent, and Knicks dont feel like a deal can be worked out then Lin will sign an offer sheet and Knicks wont match.

If Lin just doesnt sign an offer sheet; Poison Pill=Negated!!
