12:30 PM ET 07.09 | Home Run Derby - All Star Game. I can hardly Contain my In-Difference. If there has to be a break, let's all just have a few days off. This is has to be one of the biggest wastes of time in Sport. Disagree - Your WRONG. This just Glitzy Showbiz.

I used to love the MLB All-Star game. Every year, some guys would avoid playing (they can use the break), but those who did always took it seriously, unlike present-day NFL. And tying the winner to WS home-field was / is a bad-play by Bud Selig, and strangely, everyone agrees.

Home Run Derby is MLBs biggest event, money-maker of the year. Kids eat it up. Spawn of steriod-era. In class with the Super Bowl half-time show and Dancing With the Stars.

The All-Star game would matter more if the players wanted to win more. A bonus for the players on the winning side might add that incentive (after all what are the players if not greedy?)

Even then the worst MLB All-Star game beats the Pro-Bowl or NBA all-star game every time.
