Did anybody see that snooze fest of an All-Star game last night? I knew the American League were in trouble when Fox TV showed Chipper Jones (who will retire after this season) in the locker room just before the game, telling his National League teammates that he wasn't going out a loser.
Well, Chipper certainly did not go out a loser as his team crushed the American League 8-0.
The only good thing about this game was Blue Jay's outfielder, Jose Bautista's spectacular catch. In fact, when the National League went up by eight runs, I switched the channel.
Melky Cabrera was named the games Most Valuable Player.
Now to some hockey.
San Jose has hired Jim Johnson as an assistant coach.
Ottawa has signed Chris Neil to three-year, $5.75 million contract extension.
New Jersey have signed Krys Barch o a two-year contact.
Tampa Bay has signed Teddy Purcell to a three-year, $13.5 million contract.
Phoenix has promoted former NHL er, Sean Burke to assistant to the general manager and signed him to a three-year contract.
St. Louis has signed Jamie Langenbrunner to a one-year contract.
Toronto has signed Korbinian Holzer to a one-year contract.
The New York Rangers have signed Jeff Halpern to a one-year contract.

Any baseball all-star game beats the greatest hockey game of all time.

Not this one. I was hoping the score would be closer. I was very disappointed in Justin Verlander's performance.
