Some encouraging news if you're a hockey fan. The NHL players and the owners continue peaceful labour talks in New York.

Now on to some signings.

Phoenix have signed Chris Summers to a one-year contract.

Detroit has signed Kyle Quincey to a two-year, $7.55 million contract.

Ottawa has signed Jim O'Brien and Eric Gryba to two-year contracts.

Buffalo have signed Mikhail Grigorenko to a three-year, entry-level contract.

Now to some baseball.

My beloved blue Jays got swept yesterday by losing 6-0 to the New York Yankees.

I also watched two other games yesterday.

Pittsburgh defeated Colorado 9-6 and Detroit hammered the Los Angeles Angels 7-2.
