12:18 AM ET  07.26 | its been a interesting offseason for the Baltimore Ravens starting with the news that NFL defensive player of the year Terrell Suggs would miss most if not all of the 2012 season with a torn Achilles then there were key free agent losses most notably Benny Grubbs, Jared Johnson, Corey Redding and what would a Ravens offseason be without Ed Reed keeping us guessing as to whether he's going to play, holdout or retire. Ozzie is at it again The Ravens and Ray Rice agreed to a 5 year 40 million $ deal this is a win win for both sides for the Ravens you lock up one of the NFL Premier RB and this free's up some cap space (3.5M) plus now the Ravens have the franchise tag that they can use on someone else maybe Joe Flacco for Rice he gets the long term contract that all NFL players covet. ? Is Joe Flacco worth elite QB money in my opinion no but I'm not cutting the checks but with that said Flacco as been at times very good then at other times you just SHM your head with some of the things that's he does on the field but at the end of the day the Ravens must pay him and I think they will but the ? is will they over pay. ? Will Ed Reed get a new deal At the start of last season the Ravens offered Reed a 2 year extension and he turned it down my feeling is that a new deal Probably won't get done during the season and the team will likely let him test the free agent market like they let Ray Lewis do a few years ago. I think the Ravens motto will be in full affect when it comes to Reed "Right player Right price "
