Self explanatory. Pick you favorite sports movie scene, either for it's visual presentation, or for it's acting dialog. Here's a classic to start it off from Clint Eastwood. I'll get to sports later.

How's this one, WDT: Body & Soul (1940s), with John Garfield and the beautiful Lily Palmer. Hes a prize-fighter who has been guided by organized crime and is persuaded to go straight by the dame. At movies end, the fellas confront John who refused to tank the fight and the hero says: What are ya gonna do, kill me? Everybody dies. Fade to black. Rocky should be so brave.

Okay, what was that other boxing movie featuring Kirk Douglass or perhaps another with Anthony Quinn? Then again, Raging Bull is a def must too.

Champion, with Kirk Douglas, and Requiem for a Heavyweight with Tony Quinn and Jack Palance (TV), both superb. Try to catch Fat City with Stacy Keach and Jeff Bridges (very gritty) and The Last Round, with George Chuvalo, if you like boxing.

Yep, your're right. I saw both on Netflix awhile back. Just forgot about them until your post. I'll look those others up too.

Here's NY's Daily on the debate of the top 25 GOAT in sports movies:

Out of those 25, I agree with 12 of them. Some of their picks like Paul Newman in "The Hustler" are bogus. Pool isn't a sport, it's a recreational activity.
