I have a little bit of hockey and a lot of baseball now that the trade deadline has pass.
Before I get to trades, I got a couple of scores from last night. Pittsburgh got hammered 14-4 by the Chicago Cubs.
My Blue Jays lost last night too. 4-1 to the Mariners.
The Blue Jays made a trade last night, sending Travis Snider to Pittsburgh for Brad Lincoln. They also traded Eric Thames to Seattle for Steve Delabar. I really like this deal. The Jays get the pitching they need and got rid of two players who have been going back and forth to the Minor Leagues.
The big trades of the day are Ryan Dempster going from the Chicago Cubs to the Texas Rangers for two Minor League Players and Philadelphia trading Shane Victorino to the Los Angeles Dodgers for Josh Lindblom.
Philadelphia also traded Hunter Pence to San Francisco for Nate Schierholz, Tommy Joseph, and Seth Rosin.
Cincinnati have acquired Jonathan Broxton from Kansas City for Minor League pitchers Donnie Joseph and J.C. Sulbaran.
Boston acquired Craig Breslow from Arizona in exchanged for pitcher Matt Abers and outfielder Scott Podsednik.
Pittsburgh acquired Gabby Sanchez from Miami for Gorkys Hernandez and a 2013 draft pick.
St, Louis acquired Edward Mujica from Miami in exchange for first-round pick Zack Cox.
The New York Yankees have acquired Casey McGehee from Pittsburgh for Chad Qualls.
A couple of hockey notes to pass along.
THe Maple leafs have re-signed Mark Frasor to a one-year, two way contract.
Vancouver have signed Guillaume Desliens.
