A few weeks ago, I took a trip to New York City and while I was there I went to a Yankee's game. To start of, we had great seats only three rows behind the Yankee dugout, with also V.I.P passes. It was against the Blue Jays, and was a close game till about the 7th inning when Yankees were able to hit a grand slam and put the game away. However, the game was still interesting and seeing Yankee stadium erupt was an experience of its own. Earlier in the day, in Manhattan I talked to several different people about the game, and they all said the same thing "Oh it should be a good game, they'll hit tons of home runs." They all said that because at that time the Yankee had the best record in the MLB, and the Blue Jays were dead last in their division and barely over .500. But the Blue Jays put up a great fight against the Yankee's, (almost forcing the game into overtime). If it wasn't for a couple of mistakes the Blue Jays could have possibly won and avoided the sweep by the Yankees. The game ended in a 6-3 victory for the Yankees and although the Blue Jays tried to make a run for it in the top of the 9th, scoring one run with two men on bases, it just wasn't enough to dig them out of the hole. Overall, Yankee stadium is a very modernized stadium, despite being opened in 1923 they have constantly renovated it to look brand new every year. Being a cubs fan, seeing this stadium was a completely different feel. And we also had a great view, Derek Jeter being only 15 feet away at times, and Jay Z & Beyonc?? seats were 3 rows in front of us, unfortunately they were not there. This was my experience of the Yankee's game, it truly gave me a feeling of the hype of baseball in New York. If you ever do visit New York, I highly recommend you go to a Yankee game, they really are America's baseball team.
