I was watching the Little League World Series other day and saw the coasches on both foul lines and it made me remember how things still have not change at all. Most of these men like a whole lot of us had the dreams when we were young to make it to the big show someday but it just didn't happen.
I was one of the blue shirts for 15 years myself. Most of the guys don't know the rules, so instead of showcasting their players they want to be the center of attention themselves. Then you got the poor old mons and dads who satisfy their lives, other childen, and a lot of them money they don't have just to let little Johnny tracel all over to play baseball. Dad also could become little Johnny's worst nihgtmare, pushing his son to the limits sometimes on something he really doesn't care about doing.
There will always be new coasches with the same ideas, new players, and new parents with the same dream of having their son play in the big show. But these folks need to wake up and let their son live a normal childhood because only about 10 per cent of drafted players make it to the big show anyway. So instead of making MLB players in most cases you have turn out another class of Same Want A Be's With Diffent Faces to coach other peoples sons.
