Bad news for Melky Cabrera fans. He has been banned from baseball for 50 games for testosterone use. Cabrera was the Most Valuable Player in this year's All-Star Game.
My Blue Jays lost last night 3-2 to the Chicago White Sox. A couple of signings involving the Blue Jays. The team has signed catcher Jeff Mathis to a two-year contract extension with a club option for 2015. Good move. Mathis has proven that he belongs in the backup catcher role.
The Jays also signed Yorvit Torrealba to a Minor League Contract
I also watched the Chicago Cubs/Houston game last night. The Astros hammered the Cubs 10-1.
