There was a bit of controversy at the Colorado/New York Mets game in the eighth inning last night.
With bases loaded, Met's pinch hitter, Jordany Valdespin hit a ground ball to the Rockies first baseman who then tossed to the pitcher to record the out, but the replay clearly showed that Valdespin was safe. Valdespin got up immediately and argued his case. It got so bad that the manager of the Mets had come out of the dugout to separate Valdespin from the umpire. Colorado ended up winning the game 3-1
One other game I watched last night was the Milwaukee/Chicago Cubs. The Brewers won 9-5.
Speaking of the Cubs, they have placed Matt Garza on the 60-day disabled list. It is unlikely he will return this season.
Oakland has acquired shortstop, Stephen Drew from Arizona in exchange for Minor League infielder, Sean Jamieson.
