How many times must I say it? Haters hate. That's their job. Lance Armstrong survived testicular cancer.  It spread to his brain and at one point he was pronounced dead--and he made it back. He has been tested more than anyone in the history of sport, and never failed a drug test, but has been banned from the sport he made relevant, and stripped of his 7 titles because he couldn't survive the ultimate test.  If you ride a bike 3000 miles at 35-40 miles per hour, conventional wisdom says that if you win 7 times, you must be cheating; and they actually want him to defend himself.  My Wisdom tells me that he was just better than the competition. Wonder how many of the rest of the field have been tested for 15 years. If there were anything to find, they would have certainly found it by now. Believe me, if there were a substance capable of raising one's performance to this level, Armstrong wasn't the only one taking it. He was just better than everyone else.

"There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, 'Enough is enough.'
For me, that time is now," Armstrong said in a statement released on his
website. Armstrong will have to be content with the one thing a hater can never touch...accomplishment.

Nowadays it doesn't matter whether an athlete uses or not, no one believes them when they say they aren't, and the more successful they are the more people will be found who will say they saw them using. Damned if you don't, damned if you do.

Exactly! But after being tested and retested, how can they just say he's guilty. Under the circumstances, how can he defend himself? They won't even accept the results of their own tests.

Hubby thinks Lance gave up the fight too easily, but after all those years of fighting the claims and losing I'm not surprised he chose to stop. Take those 7 wins France and shove them up your cul.

Just how many times does Lance have to defend himself??.. How many millions of dollars has he shelled out to answer these charges over the years??.. I think it got to the point where he got tired of having to deal with it and gave in..
Like Stormy said.. nobody cares about cycling.. and if the Tour DeFrance stopped running.. nobody would notice.. I know I wouldn't

Exactly. He's still the best that's ever been.Cycling is such a joke. Nobody gave a crap about it before Armstrong, and no one can possibly give a crap about it now.

Sounds like just about everyone doped. Not hard to believe Lance doped too, he was just better than everyone else.

Lance did a lot of good for people (Live Strong) and I think that fact will be his legacy more than the fraud and cheater that he probably was.

This was nothing but a haters wiitch hunt. We'll never know whether he doped or not. Problem is the USADA doesn't know either. There is absolutely no proof, and he wasn't even given the benefit of knowing who his accusers are.
