Just a few updates from Patriots camp. The Pats have finalized a 5 yr, $40M extension with Aaron Hernndez. That's the good news. Teams have till 4PM ET to get rosters down to 75, so the Pats have cut 6 players, the biggest name is Donte Stallworth WR, also released were Tim Bulman DE, Spencer Larsen FB, Gerald Warren DL, Josh Barrett S, and Ron Ventrone DB. They will need to cut 4 more by the dealine.
The Defense has a way to go, as was evident in the Tampa Bay game. Their secondary was picked apart by TB. Rookie Alfonzo Dennard saw his first action on Friday night. He's been limited with injuries, but doesn't mean he wasn't watching film and working hard in the weight room to get back on the field. Whenever you have new players especially rookies whether on Offense or defense it takes time to adjust and gel with you teammates. Hopefully it won't take more then 2 weeks.
Bill Belichick was not happy about the way the team played against Tamps. Except for Mallet no one excaped his wrath. Some things they need to work on is turnovers and penalties and more positive plays on defense.
