David Batista, better known as "Batista" in the WWE, is making his mma debut on pay per view October 6th. He's fighting Rashid Evans. No, not Rashad Evans from the UFC. lol

Hit the link below to see the promo for this card. I hope Batista does a little something, but I don't think he wins.

Batista's oppenent has a record of.... 3-1 in the Amateurs, and this is also his first professional fight. Will the "animal" be unleashed?

Just read an article about Batista today. He's training with some top guys now and apparently got knocked out by Stephan Bonnar in practice. Batista said it was the first time he's ever truly been dropped by somebody - knees went limp, etc.

Also, Peachy...I had to throw a little bet on BAD Chad for tomorrow night. He's going off as a +265 underdog which I think isn't giving him enough credit at all. The guy is HUGE as a super- middleweight for this fight.

Ward will outbox him. I like Bad Chad, he def. could win.

Batista is big, but he's always been a little slow in my opinion. Size isn't as important as speed in MMA. I don't see good things for Batista.

Haha. You're right. The rumors have been swirling for a good 2 years now about Batista's debut.

Oh yeah, did you hear that there's a new MMA promotion starting up on NBC Sports in November? It's called the World Series of Fighting (WSOF). Miguel Torres is main eventing the first event and they've got Kurt Angle signed on as one of the analysts. 10 sided cage for some reason, too. Maybe UFC owns the rights to the Octogon or something.

It's just one-upmanship. The next promotion will have a twenty sided cage like a dungeons and dragons dice.

Agreed. His overdevelopment slows him down, makes him less flexible, and also will impact his endurance as all that muscle mass will be starving for oxygen.
Not sure if you know Bobby Lashley from WWE (similar physique to Batista). He switched over to MMA a few years ago and basically got his ass handed to him by some low tier guys.
They're trying to follow in Brock Lesnar's footsteps but these guys don't have Brock's athleticism or amateur background behind them.

What a disgrace. Those guys were looking for a ticket back to the UFC and instead it ended up being a clown show with a soccer kick. Now we're gonna get Sylvia vs. Arlovski FIVE.

September 8, 2012  01:00 AM ET

Huh, and I always thought Batista did steroids.

Definitely. I'm sure they won't be able to get 3 minutes into the program without bragging about the advantages of their decagon or whatever the shjt they're going to call it. Pretty soon it'll be one of those 3 tiered Hell in Cell contraptions and Vince McMahon will buy them all out.
