With both teams fighting for a playoff spot, it's not surprising things can get heated up between the New York Yankees, the Baltimore Orioles, and the umpires.
Last night's match up between the Os and Yanks ended with a double play by Baltimore. However, countless replays show the Mark Teixeira of the Yankees was clearly safe at first. Of course, with no surprise, there was outrage on the New York bench and frankly I can't blame them. I saw the replay myself in slow motion. No way Teixeira was out. His hand was on the bag long before the ball got there. Bad umpiring, indeed.
As for my Blue Jays, they hammered Boston 9-2 last night.
Earlier in the afternoon, Washington came back to beat Miami 7-6 in extra innings.
Jake Westbrook of the St. Louis Cardinals will miss his next start due to a right oblique injury.
I also caught some college football last night, Canadian and U.S.
Let's start with Canadian University football. Queens defeated Laurier 42-16.
I also watched the UCLA?Nebraska game last night. The Bruins won 36-30.
Finally, Rory Mcllroy leads the BMW Championship by two strokes (-20) after 15 holes in the final round.
