As the majority of the NFL games started today, let's looks at the strong power house's and the teams that lacked in many ways. We'll start with the Cowboys and Giants. Cowboys won a great game, and maybe bought themselves some respect, although there were just to many penalties; that will hurt them in close games. As for the Giants, they have to get to together, that's no Super Bowl team right there. The Cowboys won 24-17.
Now, let's do a quick overview to are beloved rookies: Robert Griffin III and Andrew Luck. Griffin looked fabulous, better than Peyton Manning and Cam Newton did in their first game. He beat the Saints a complete powerhouse, well maybe not this year. Outstanding stats 320 yards and two touchdowns. As for Luck, he wasn't so lucky the Colts got completely blown away by the Bears. His stats were okay 300 yards, 1 TD and 3 interceptions, but he's rookie give him a break. Without a doubt Griffin will win Rookie of the year, but Luck will be better in the long run.
Now, let's do a quick overview of some of the games this afternoon. The Atlanta Falcons looked great, Ryan had unbelievable stats, 4 TD's and the Falcons blew away the Cheifs, a good day for Charles though 89 yards rushing. Then Mark Sanchez, who is now pressured by Tebow to play well did exactly that. 200 yards and 3 TD's, they crushed the Bills, but their D allowed 24 points to a weak offense, but C.J Spiller put on a show. The Eagles won, but no offense, the Browns ain't that good. The Lions had a close one, but against the Rams not a good sign. Texans and the Pats both looked strong, definite playoff teams, Brady used his tight ends as usual and the Texans D showed of as well as Foster. Peterson had a great day, coming of a big injury, he really proved himself as for Jones Drew eh not so much. Personally, I don't know what to say about the Saints, Brees played well but they just couldn't do it. Right now, the Bucs are looking much better than last year's 10 game losing streak, and Cam is of to a decent start.
Right now, two of the NFC's best are going head to head: the Packers and the 49ers. Currently the 49ers are in the lead, and Alex Smith is out shining Aaron Rodgers. Packers are of the a slow start, and if they lose guess what? Their at the bottom of the division, at least for a couple of days. There's still the 4th quarter, Rodgers can easily make a comeback. And let's give it up to David Akers for a 63 yard field goal, to tie the NFL record. Moss had a nice touchhdown and Finely has played well. I got 49ers picked in this game, they look stronger and have a nice lead.
Tonight, will be exciting, and it's Sunday so that's always a good thing. Peyton Manning will start a game it's been almost 2 years since he last did with the Colts. How he performs will be interesting, don't expect the old Manning, that will take some time or may not be possible. Should be a good game, both aren't particularly strong but they have their strengths. Steelers have a good D, and WR's, Broncos have a good D, strong RB and a smart QB. Overall, I think the Broncos will win 30 to 24. Overall, a great start for the NFL. Bengals and Ravens, and Chargers and Raiders will battle it out tomorrow.
