With the conclusion of another MLB season coming up soon, it will be another gloomy baseball postseason for us Red Sox fans. For the third year in a row the Boston Red Sox will be left on the outside looking in at the Fall Classic. To make matters worse two of our Division rivals (Orioles & Yankees) are currently battling it out for the Division, and will both most likely make the postseason. Albeit I am young and haven't experienced much disappointment as a Sox fan thanks to their two World Series titles (2004 & 2007), this season has been the hardest one for me to watch. I came into the season with fairly high hopes (stupidly) that maybe they could make the playoffs and possibly make some noise due to the amount of talent on the roster in April. Of course injuries happened again, then we traded half of our team, and of course Bobby Valentine also happened. The worst part of this whole season to me has been the fact that Bobby V has somehow found a way each week to make matters worse in the clubhouse. He criticizes his own players by calling them the worst September roster ever, rather than try to motivate and encourage them, especially since so many players currently playing are young and the future of this team. While this season has been rough for Sox fans, hopefully it will humble us all and get us to all support our young team over the next few years as we try to build through our farm system which has a few bright spots (Jose Iglesis, Xander Bogaerts, Ryan Lavarnaway, etc.) currently getting some valuable major league experience. I look forward to supporting this team and hopefully seeing these young guys win a ring in Boston in the near future. Until then I will continue to root against the Yankees and hope that one day soon they suffer too.
