Who the heck is Uncle Hubie? First, I'm as old as dirt and have an opinion on most everything and love to share it. Not afraid to admit when I'm wrong or fight to the finish when believing I'm right.

My mother, Margaret, God rest her soul, told me I was born a critic and should prepare myself for a tough road ahead. She also told me, "Hubie, it's not easy being right." No truer words were spoken.

I went to my first race in 1954. My dad owned a jalopy and my uncle Flip drove it on dirt tracks in western Michigan.

I've seen, studied and written about NASCAR, IMSA, CanAm, Formula Super Vee, F-5000, TransAm, Formula 1 and the list goes on. I've driven Formula Vee, Formula Ford, Formula Super Vee and Formula Atlantic. I've raced at Riverside, Phoenix (road course), Ontario Motor Speedway (road course), Willow Springs, Laguna Seca, Sears Point, Holtville and even the road course at the Orange County Raceway in Irvine, CA.

I was Editor / Associate Publisher of a monthly auto racing publication in the 1970's - FORMULA Magazine. I've promoted 'pro' Formula Ford races, established the Formula For Racing Association. Crap, I even had a couple photos published in Autosport.

Please, it's not about beating my chest. I just want to convey that I have some established knowledge regarding auto racing - from numerous perspectives.

What I'm not: Well, baseball is hardly my favorite; I could care less if there was ever another NBA game played; I'm a limited NFL (National Felon League) fan, watch four or five games a year; And as for hockey and soccer - they don't exist in my world. And, to me, the ugliest sport in the world is women's basketball - for heavens sake, wanting to be so much like a man they're now getting all the 'tattoos', just like the big-boy illiterates in the NBA.

Politically I'm a conservative through and through. Liberals and their 'BIG' government concept make me sick.

Well, that's me: Except for one other thing - my mother taught me to never lie.

So, you're saying in essence, you're a red neck, (not that there's anything wrong with that.) But wouldn't you like to get all the people (vagrant street people) off the streets, and maybe increase teacher's pay, (remember these kids will be our leaders in 20-25 years), and how about a manufacturing base once again in the USA? (No more tax breaks for sending jobs to China, Mexico, Thailand, etc.). Only way that's going to happen is with Big Government. Rich people don't seem to want to help at all with that. (And I don't think Kobe Bryant, LaBron James, or Jalen Rose (to name just a few) are illiterate.

Could it be too much of the KoolAid, whilst under that 51 Ford, shimming that V8 Flathead transmission.

Brentwood Belair; Thanks for your comments. You can refer to me as a red neck if you like - although I don't consider myself one. I have a much less problem with the homeless (vagrant street people than increased pay for teachers - in California. The California Teachers Union has destroyed education in this state. Please, teachers and not training kids to be leaders, only followers.

IMO, any person that believes Big Government is the answer has no concept of what America was built upon - The Constitution of The United States of America. Oh. And as far as the rich - they make everything happen in growing our country. It's the gimme-gimme, you owe me crowd that is ruining our country. How much did you pay in taxes last year? In addition to our normal taxes my wife and I owed an addition $16,800.00. We're not 1%'ers, not even close.

Kobe Bryant is a puke of a person, has little respect for his family - OK, he is literate, but that's about it. The other guys you mentioned - who gives a crap.

OH. And just so you fully understand - Big Government is the main reason we have the 'vagrants' you refer to. It's also the reason for the 'tax breaks' for sending jobs overseas. It's also the reason we have so many people on "free corn" and "food stamps" and on and on and on. Obama is not responsible for past events - but he's certainly responsible for the destruction of our economy, the destruction of associations with decade-long allies, and the current wide spread storm of anger against America - which he personally and intentionally has created over the past four years.
