Yikes. You'll need to dig into your wallet and dig deep to see a F1 race in person. Aside from the cost of getting there, food, local transportationn and lodging; the cost of a low-end grandstand ticket is astounding.
For next year(rates for this year's race at Austin, TX will follow) a ticket for the F1 race in Korea (heaven forbid) will pick your pocket for a measly $127.00. Maybe India is more your speed; lay out $130.00. And if you want to go 'big' time try Abu Dhabi at a mere $595.00 per ticket.
Now, for the Grand Prix in Austin, "get ready to rumble" your finances: Three-day passes with grandstand seating on the cheap = $400.00. Oh, you want something better? Try $800.00. And guess what? That's from what's left - the rest, they say, is SOLD OUT.
I saw some kind of "fly-in-fly-out" same day premium, race day only ticket (air fare, transportation to track, top line ticket) for a mere $5500.00. Oh man, give me one of those.

My my my. Almost as pricey as a New York Yankees' game. India? Not a fan of curry. Abu Dhabi? Do they have beer venders? Course, that'd run ya' a 20-spot. Never been, but how does NASCAR compare?

Steven; Thanks for your comment. But first let me get to the important part: As an ex-Formula Ford driver in the SoCal Region SCCA in the 70's I'd be interested in knowing what make that red vintage FF is? Can't quite figure it out from the photo. My first FF was a Hawk DL2a. From there I had a Titan Mk6c (the one with the platapuss-like front nose and then an Elden Mk10c (the one with side radiators behind the front wheels).
As far as NASCAR ticket prices go I believe them to be pricey. But in comparison to F1 maybe a good deal. Does it cost a $130 to go to a Yankee's game? What happened to $8 general admission? Shows how long it's been since I went to a baseball game.

It's an Elfin Mono, 1965 Australian GP. I got the picture from WikiCommons. I love these models. I'm sure today's open-wheeled F1 is much safer (and faster) but they just don't have that oh-so cool styling. Ahhhh, progress.
