Day 28 of the NHL lockout and nothing new to report.

It was a bit heartbreaking to watch my second favourite Major League Baseball team, the Washington Nationals, to have a 6-0 lead, only to lose 9-7 to the St. Louis Cardinals in the fifth and final game of the NLDS. The Cardinals will now square off against the San Francisco Giants in the National League Championship series.

The Baltimore Orioles dream season came to and end last night as they were defeated 3-1 to the New York Yankees in the fifth and final game of the ALDS. The Yankees will face the Detroit Tigers in the American League Championship series starting tonight. I'm really looking forward to this one. Two historic franchises battling it out on the diamond. Can't get any better than that.

I also watched some Canadian Hockey League action and both games went to a shoot-out. First, Barrie beat Oshawa 4-3 and the Calgary Hitman defeated the Edmonton Oil Kings 5-4.

Finally, John Mallinger leads the Frys,com Open by four strokes (-14) going into the third round.

If the owner's won't rein in Bettman, then the fans must. I intend to Boycot as many hocky games as we miss due to the lockout. We need to teach the owners that there is a real cost to this nonsense - and they will have to pay the bill!

Like I said in one of my blogs, I'll get my hockey fix from some other league whether it's the CHL or AHL. I watched the Marlies on T.V. yesterday. It was just as exiting as watching the Leafs, maybe better. At least guys can win.
