Day 33 of the NHL lockout. Just what I expected. The players and owners are still far apart even after the players were handed a 50/50 proposal earlier this week. The union handed over not one, not two, but three counter proposals to the league today, only to have all of them rejected. Commissioner, Gary Bettman said in a press conference afterwards that the three proposals handed to the owners were a step backwards. It makes me wonder what was on those proposals that is ticking Bettman off. No word on when the two sides will meet again.
Since there is a possibility there won`t be any NHL hockey this year, I have decided to watch NBA basketball. I watched a rather exiting one (exhibition) last night between Toronto and Washington last night. I found myself on the edge of my seat as the Raptors beat the Wizards 104-101. Top scorers for Toronto: Landry Fields (15 pts), Kyle Lowry (14 pts), Amir Johnson (13 pts), Jose Calderon (12 pts), and Demar DeRozan (11 pts).
St. Louis leads the NLCS 2-1 after defeating San Francisco 3-1 last night.
Game Four of the ALCS was postponed last night due to rain.
Cardinal's right fielder, Carlos Beltran is day to day with a strained left knee.
My beloved Blue Jays picked up right-hander, Tyson Brummett off waivers from the Philadelphia Phillies.
Finally, there is a four-way tie (-6) at the McGladrey Classic in the first round.
