NEWS IN THE NBA

 David Stern has announced that he is going to contract the NBA down to 20 teams and collapse all teams back into 2 divisions the following 20 teams were selected by if they had ever won a title and then by popular vote amoung the NBA teams

 in a Shocker in the East the Cavs were selected to remain over the Nets - possibly due to backlash from Ron Thorns tenure in the Commish office.

In the West the Mavs, Jazz and the Suns were selected to remain viable.

 The rest of the teams will be disbanded and their players will be drafted into the remaining NBA teams

 Due to the drastic nature of this contraction Stern has also decided that the normal NBA GMs will NOT be allowed to draft. Instead he will select 20 members of Fannation to do the draft.

The Draft order is determined by record as of Feb 4th

The Draft will also aternate between east and west.

the Rules of the Draft are simple- once a pick is made- you must release a player - so it goes (for example)

The Mavs pick Jason Kidd- and release Diop

- So now not only are the players from other teams avail- so are the released players- so later on (much later I'm sure) you may have a team stop picking- as there is no other player better out there (I'm guessing the suns might get to round 4) But you can also have the Heat looking for a C and picking Diop up.
