| 11:17 PM ET 10.20 | Remember the old days....waaaay back in the mid 90's, when your online capabilities were 2400kps or 4800 (they seemed to double every few months with a new online card) when trying to sign on to the internet?! LMAO, how the YEARS have passed...... Now we have a cable hook up (that our new and improved computers use) that kicks out many times faster than those days. Makes me wonder at times. I shoot around the chat rooms just about every night to see who's following the games online. I discovered a few things. The Yankee's and Red Sox fans have the biggest following, and they seem to participate more than ANY sport. POINT: I'm in the Brewers, Packers, and Badgers chat rooms, and basically no Wisconsin fans EVER show up. MLB is the BIGGEST show online...for whatever reason. OH, you get some following in the NFL rooms, but not nearly as much. Strange. The NFL is the BIG SHOW on TV, but it doesn't translate well to the chat rooms here. Must be that the MLB games are slow enough that people have more time to chat online...just guessing. Next would be NCAAB (basketball) or NCAAF (football) I guess, but I may be wrong. Which leaves me the question...why not the NFL? Again, are people toooo hooked to their TV's to go online to chat. One last point....I also noticed people arguing for their teams in sports, but NEVER show up in the chat room(s) to show their support for their team. Bizarre. OH, they show up AFTER the game, but not during. WHY? I get the feeling they are AFRAID....worried their team may lose, and thus they might get embarrassed. Like nobodies going to find out anyway...PLEASE! HEY, word to the wise....just come to the chat room of your team...show up...have a few laughs (win or lose), and ENJOY hanging out. There's no better time than meeting new friends online. Even in the ever changing world of online speed upgrades! Have a great week(end)....fans?!

I forgot what my last modem was from 1995....but it was 2400, then I bought a new CPU with 4800 and thought it was the SHEEEET! LOL, later in 1997, I was up to 56K...WOW, was that the SEEEET Pt. 2!

I know, I understand many people don't have the luxury like me now with a main PC, and a portable laptop too. I get that many have their PC's in separate rooms, and just don't want to go back and forth during commercials to chat...I get it. Just trying to motivate people....LOL

Save your money. I bought a cheap one made by Aesus or something like that for $190.00 at best buy. Tiny thing compared to other size notebooks. It's slower than hell, but it's useful for when I'm camping and I drive into a town and find a "Hot spot" to do some quick double checking.

I'm now using my home PC with a little digital TV ($49.99, Amazon) that has a 7" widescreen on it. Works great. So now everything is right in the world! HA!
