Day 36 of the NHL lockout.  Alex Ovechkin said if there's a pay cut in the next CBA, he and some of the other players who are playing overseas will not come back to North America.  Boo Hoo! Like as if I really care if he comes back here or not.  His past two seasons in the NHL was less than stellar.  All you have to do is look at the stats.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the Washington Capitals miss the postseason this year.

I got more juicy news involving a NHL player.  Ben Eager of the Edmonton Oilers, along with his brother Michael were arrested and charged with assault after an altercation at the Quail & Firkin bar in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Now to some AHL hockey.  The Toronto Marlies shut out the Hamilton Bulldogs 5-0 last night.  Kenny Ryan scored two goals and Keith Aucoin got three assists during the game.

I also watch the late game between the Chicago Wolves and the Abbotsford Heat.  The Heat won 4-1.  Ben Walter of the Heat got two assists during the game.

There was no baseball last night, but I do have some news to pass along.

I will start with the big news first, involving my beloved Blue Jays.  The team will be shopping around for a new manager as John Farrell was dealt to Boston.  He will become the Red Sox's new manager.

Oakland has traded away infielder, Cliff Pennington, along with infield prospect, Yordy Cabrera to Arizona in exchange for Chris Young and cash considerations.

I also watched some Canadian University football yesterday afternoon.  McMaster won again, hammering Laurier 43-0.

Finally, Davis Love III and Jim Furyk are tied (-13) at the McGladrey Classic after three rounds.

Yes I know. Alomar's name is mentioned in an article on bluejays.com. I wrote an article about Farrell's departure on isportsweb.com yesterday.

You can't blame him for all the injuries to the starting rotation plus Joey Bats and Lawrie for long periods
