Let's get this out of the way, the whistle was blown to early. I'm not gonna sit here and say it was a touchdown only because if the whistle is not blown the ND players do not run off to celebrate as Taylor continues to push(watch the highlight). Plus as my father always said "never leave it up to one play, the ref might bite you in the ass". It was one hell of a game to watch and very emotional for me as it was a year to the date that my father passed away. He was a huge Irish fan and would of loved to see how this year is going(might have had a heart attack watching of these games).
Now the BYU game was scary to say the least. The defense had some mental mistakes and seem to lose its cool, but come the second half it regained it's form and held BYU to no points as the Irish running game just ate up the yards against a good BYU rush defense. That brings up Tommy Rees, great first drive then he turned into his old self.
Let's face it most people dont think the Irish are that great. I'm not gonna argue with you. I honestly think there a solid team thats a year or so away from being great. Manti might be gone after this year, but the secondary is only gonna get better(remember 3 first year starters which includes a true freshman that came to ND as a running back). The defensive line is only going to get better, remember this name Irish fans, Jarron Jones he is redshirting this year but he is 6-7 300+lbs. Adding him to the defense and the No. 3 prospect this year in Jaylon Smith a LB out of Fort Wayne, IN. Now on to the offense. Golson is only gonna get better as and if not don't forget who is redshirting this year, Gunner Keil. Still a wait and see which young recievers step it up in the next few years. The running game should be just fine with GA3 only being a sophmore.
Either way we will find out how real the Irish are this weekend with the trip to Norman, OK.
