Day 44 of the NHL lockout. Nothing really new to report, only that the 2013 Winter Classic is probably next on the chopping block.
The San Francisco Giants did it again. Last night, they became the 2012 World Champions of baseball after defeating the Detroit Tigers in extra innings 4-3 and sweeping the series 4-0. The Giants outscored the Tigers in the series 16-6.
Pablo Sandoval won the series Most Valuable Player award. Good choice since he hit three home runs in the first game. The only other candidates I could come up with are relievers, Tim Lincecum and Sergio Romo who pitched great coming out of the bullpen. Congratulations San Francisco! On a great season. My congratulations also goes to the city of Detroit for making it as far as you did.
