I made an easy week tough. Really really tough. In a week where there were very few upsets, I went 6-8 by picking upsets.

Such a terrible result. And the measley 56 points I earned in the pool dropped me all the way down from a respectable 8th to a despicable 21st out of 68 participants. Ugly ugly week.

I'm glad to know that my Fannation Friend LoveItHateIt must have done pretty well, considering LIHI picked at least four games right that I got wrong. Congrats!

Thank goodness the Packers, Giants and 49ers all won or I'd have been really dead. They were my top three picks and accounted for 39 of my points.

So help me to understand how I could possibly have picked St. Louis to beat New England? The Rams had to travel further to London and are by far the worse team. With 20-20 hindsight, that Patriot massacre of the Rams was pretty easy to predict.

And what's with me and Philly? Why did I listen to Andrew when he told me the Eagles had never lost coming off a bye under Andy Reid? I should have known full well by now that this is not the same Andy Reid and these are not my younger-self's Eagles. I thought the Philadelphia defense would pull together after losing their Coordinator, not fall apart completely.

And don't even talk to me about the Jests. I don't think there's a team in the league that I detest more right now (no offense to the city, it's just your coach that bugs me) and yet I go and pick them to beat an up-and-coming Miami team. Serves me right that the Dolphins, even with Matt Moore at QB, hammered the Jests. And that Mark Sanchez gave his moronic coach even more grounds for going to Tim Tebow. Not that he ever will.

You know, I look at my picks today and I realise that there is not a single pick in there that I feel really proud of. Okay, maybe Pittsburgh over Washington. Yeah, I feel a little bit proud of that one. The Steelers are being written off by a lot of people but I think they've still got some fight left in them.

Oh well. I guess I'm all but out of the running for a top finish in the pool right now, standing as I do about 30 points behind the leaders. Too bad. I was doing pretty well there for a while.

Come back tomorrow to see the World's Worst Football Picks for Week 9.

Sometimes you have to make risky picks to gain ground - the Rams was one of those picks. If you had it right, you would have been one of the few to get points off that game.

I did the same thing with Philly. When I read that stat of 13 consecutive wins after the bye, I bought in. That and I'm not 100% sold on Atlanta (but maybe I should be?)

You might be 30 points back, but there's a lot of games left and if you assign your points right, you can catch up quickly!

But how did you do last week?

QUOTE(#2):

But how did you do last week?

Four losses. Minny, Philly, SD and Tennessee. But in my pool I only lost 5 points out of 22 so still decent. Too bad I'm in the middle of the pack! I'll need to call some upsets to have any shot.
