Day 54 of the NHL lockout,  The two sides are meeting as we speak.  Sources say that if there is no progress today, the two sides will not meet again tomorrow as scheduled.  It could also mean the entire season will be in serious jeopardy.

Meanwhile, there is still Major Junior hockey to watch.

The QMHL All-Stars defeated the Russian Selects 5-2 last night.  Tonight the Russians will face the OHL All-Stars.

Now to some baseball.

The Colorado Rockies have hired Walt Weiss as their new manager.

Bill Livesey was hired today by Pittsburgh to be a senior advisor to general manger, Neal Huntington.

Jaun Nieves has been selected to be Boston's new pitching coach.

Another former player was also hired as a coach.  Former MLB slugger, Mark McGuire was hired as the Los Angeles Dodger's hitting coach.

I also have some disturbing news involving Major League Baseball.  Another player has tested positive for testosterone.  Yasmani Grandal of the San Diego Padres has been suspended for 50 games without pay.  When will these guys ever learn?  Do they actually think they won't get caught eventually?

Finally, Tommy Gainey and Camilo Villegas are tied (-7) at the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Classic after one round.
