Stack Attack's Blog

Still under the weather, The Stack is here just like every Friday with previews and predictions for all of Sunday's NFL games.  Week 10 has officially begun and The Stack is 1-0 following the Indianapolis Colts 27-10 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.  Andrew Luck looked fine once again, rushing for two touchdowns in leading the Colts.  The Jaguars are just flat out awful.  Two fans I saw wore bags over their heads that said "Baguars."  Now that is clever!  Onto the preview and the picks for week 10 in "the stack" for today, Friday, November 9:

Oakland Raiders @ Baltimore Ravens 1:00 PM ET CBS

The Ravens give up a lot of yards against the run.  Too bad the Raiders top two running backs have high ankle sprains.  Oh yeah and there's the fact that it's the Raiders against the Ravens.

Prediction: Ravens 30 Raiders 17

Denver Broncos @ Carolina Panthers 1:00 PM ET CBS

Watch out Denver.  Cam Newton and company are ready for you and they are in much better spirits following the win over Washington last week.  If Newton can beat RGIII and Peyton Manning in back-to-back weeks, the Panthers may be able to salvage the season.  Can see it happening.  Don't think it's very likely though.

Prediction: Broncos 24 Panthers 17

New York Giants @ Cincinnati Bengals 1:00 PM ET FOX

Bengals can ill-afford to go 0-3 in their three game homestand.  But the Giants are a little angry after last week's performance against the Steelers.  They'll be ready for this one.

Prediction: Giants 23 Bengals 17

Tennessee Titans @ Miami Dolphins 1:00 PM ET CBS

The Titans were smoked by the Bears at home last week.  The Dolphins played very well on the road at Indy.  I trust Ryan Tannehill (can't believe I'm saying that) far more than I do Jake Locker who appears to be in line to start this week for the Titans.

Prediction: Dolphins 23 Titans 13

Detroit Lions @ Minnesota Vikings 1:00 PM ET FOX

This is a must-win game for the Vikings given the last six games of their season includes two matchups against both the Packers and Bears.  If they want to win, they better give the ball to Adrian PetersonPercy Harvin, however, doesn't seem likely to play and that will only make Christian Ponder have a worse day throwing the ball though it is tough to be worse than he was last week.  Toss up game.

Prediction: Lions 24 Vikings 13

Buffalo Bills @ New England Patriots 1:00 PM ET CBS

The Bills will have to make a huge run to make the playoffs after this week, because I don't see any way they beat a Patriots team that has had two weeks to prepare for this game on the road.

Prediction: Patriots 34 Bills 17

Atlanta Falcons @ New Orleans Saints 1:00 PM ET FOX

This game is a really tough one to pick.  The Saints have played well as of late, winning three of their last four games.  They host the undefeated Falcons who always seem to find a way to win the close games this year as evidenced by their undefeated 8-0 record.  That undefeated record goes down this week in a classic.

Prediction: Saints 30 Falcons 27

San Diego Chargers @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1:00 PM ET CBS

Flying cross-country, an early kickoff, going against the hottest running back in football in Doug Martin.  What could go wrong for the Chargers?

Prediction: Buccaneers 24 Chargers 16

New York Jets @ Seattle Seahawks 4:05 PM ET CBS

The Jets have had two weeks to figure out their offense.  The Seahawks don't need a week to figure out how to stop it.  Their defense is too good and Marshawn Lynch will be in full beast mode.

Prediction: Seahawks 24 Jets 13

Dallas Cowboys @ Philadelphia Eagles 4:25 PM ET FOX

Two vastly under-performing 3-5 teams in the Linc.  The Eagles offensive line is in shambles.  Michael Vick is struggling.  Can they right the ship?  Sure they can.  I just don't see how they can do it.  Then again, they are going against a Cowboys team that makes a couple of bone-headed plays each week that can cost them a victory.  Another toss-up game.

Prediction: Cowboys 23 Eagles 20

St. Louis Rams @ San Francisco 49ers 4:25 PM ET FOX

Danny Amendola coming back give the Rams a chance to find the endzone once.  That won't be enough against this 49ers defense.

Prediction: 49ers 27 Rams 10

Houston Texans @ Chicago Bears 8:20 PM ET NBC

The battle of two 7-1 teams will be battling it out in Chicago.  Arguably, they are each the best team in their respective conferences.  Both defenses are great.  Edge: Bears.  Arian Foster vs. Matt Forte.  Edge: Foster and the Texans.  Andre Johnson vs. Brandon Marshall.  Edge: Marshall.  This is going to be a close game, but remember the last time the Texans were on Sunday night football, they lost 42-17 to the Packers at home.  This game will be a little closer.  Dare I say another toss up?

Prediction: Bears 27 Texans 23
