Saturday, Nov 17 - The #1 and #2 ranked teams in College Football go down to defeat!  That leaves 1 undefeated team-Notre Dame.  No way Notre Dame is the best team in my opinion, but undefeated, and that's all that matters at this point.

Where does that leave Alabama?  In my humble opinion they are the best team in College Football.  Wait a minute, I live in Baton Rouge and BLEED PURPLE and GOLD, I just happen to strongly dislike Nick Satan and the Crimson Tide!

My question, when Bama beats Auburn or should I say if they beat Auburn, after all it is a huge rivalry game, and they beat Georgia in the SEC Championship game, should they play for the National Champioship?

Isn't Bama the best of the 1 loss teams?

Don't forget the Buckeyes ..... I know they are not in the picture but they are unbeaten.

If Alabama wins the SEC Championship Game they definitely deserve to play for the National Championship.

Until then their schedule has allowed them to avoid the other two one loss SEC teams.

Alabama absolutely deserves to play for the National Championship should they win out. This entire season they have been dominant. With the exception of 1 quarter....... 1 QUARTER ..... Alabama has owned the gridiron. Yes, they won at LSU late in the game but great teams win games like that. EVERY team endures a rough game enroute to a title. There are no cakewalks and ESPECIALLY in the SEC.

Buckeyes aren't eligible. However, if they were.... I wonder where they would be in the BCS standings. #1? #2? or lower (the AP has them #4 vs. 'Bama at #2). The Big 10 isn't exactly loading the BCS poll with teams like the SEC does (2 for the Big 10 v. 7 for the SEC and 6 of those in the top 12)

I don't think so. Despite their performance against Stanford, I am still convinced Oregon would run past Alabama.
