The meaning of the phrase "fold like a cheap suit" is to collapse or give way under pressure, in other word, you choke.
Brad Keselowski has all characteristics needed to perform a "fold like a cheap suit" scenario:
1) He is very reactionary.
2) Big chip on his shoulder, he feels he is the black sheep of the NASCAR family.
3) He feels NASCAR likes to pick at him. A victim.
4) He knows there are drivers that don't want him to win this championship and as we all know "PARANOIA WILL DESTROY YA"
5) He is young and has shown signs of immaturity.
Brad Keselowski is his own worse enemy, not Kyle Busch, Hamlin, Edwards or countless others he aggravated on the track.
If he loses this championship, other than by mechanical failure, you can bet the house it will be because indeed he "folded like a cheap suit.
After listening to interview with his parents on the Speed channel and hearing about how he helped his mom and dad from losing everything, I got no choice but to pull for him, I guess I folded like a cheap suit after listening to the story.

Maybe last year I would have thought so, but Brad has come such a long way this year, with regards to staying focused........I hope he wins the Championship.....he deserves it.....and it would be a more exciting end of the season than JJ winning it.

To be fair, "folded like a cheap suit" is a common phrase, one which I've heard more than a few times during my lifetime. Google it. You'll find more refs to his phrase than yours.
