Day 69 of the NHL lockout. The league has cancelled games through December 14 and the 2013 All-Star that was to be held in Columbus.
Some sad news from the hockey world. Latvian Star, Kaspars Astashenko has died at age 37. He played 23 games with the Tampa Bay Lightning between 1999-2001. No word on the cause of death.
A few baseball notes to pass along.
Boston signed outfielder Jonny Gomes yesterday.
The Chicago White Sox have signed Dewayne Wise to a one-year, $700,000 contract.
Seattle have parted ways with Chone Figgins.

This NHL lockout is beginning to sound like the Iranian hostage crisis.
