Two bad calls, three ejections, another loss by double digit points.
There's not much to say after this game. Carson Palmer returned to Cincy and had a forgettable game, completing only 55% of his passes for 146 yards, a pick and a fumble. The offense had only 99 yards rushing. Cincy outgained the Raiders by just under 200 yards. Brutal game.
The first half was completely dominated by Cincinnati. Just completely. They were 6/8 on third down, had 289 yards to the Raiders 83, they limited the Raiders to only 4 plays in their territory and allowed zero points.
But the game totally shifted in the 2nd half. The defense was playing great forcing 4 straight three and outs. The Raiders were actually outscoring their opponent in the 3rd quarter for the first time this season. Mind you, they were still losing, but they managed to score twice to make it a two score game at the end of the 3rd quarter.
Then it happened. Palmer's fumble resulted in a quick FG by the Bengals. A long Raiders drive was stalled by a crappy clipping call on Brisiel knocking them out of FG range. The Raiders caused a fumble that was returned for a TD - only to be called back by an 'inadvertent whistle'. Cincinnati's Whitworth overreacts to a late hit by Houston on Dalton and a scrum ensues.
The refs were unable to get control and Tommy Kelly stupidly comes off the bench to join the melee. Coaches for both sides were on the field and the result was ejections for Whitworth, Kelly and Houston.
And the game was over. Yeah, there were other plays that followed, but they didn't matter.
It's been a while since I've felt as dejected as I did after this game. I'm sure the Raiders feel the same way.

I heard a rumor that Allen stripped Tarver of his defensive play calling duties in the 2nd half. If that's true, I wonder if he will be on the payroll much longer. There was a distinct difference in the defense from one half to the next.
Much too late though. Yeah, we got screwed on those calls, but even if they hadn't happened, we still would have been down 10 points. The game was over after the first half IMO.
At this point, I think we'll be lucky to beat Cleveland. They have been playing tough defensively and our defense manages to make any QB look like a world beater. Ugh!

As he said. He has accepted two contracts in his life. One with his wife and the other was to protect his QB. Thats exactly what he was doing. I would like to see more O-lineman get in the face of D-line players that take shots at QB's.
If you want to throw respect away from a team and a organization for getting in the face of a player that just slammed Dalton on to the turf I think you're taking the respect away from the wrong team.
Remember a couple years ago the right hook by Seymour on Roethlisberger? How a O-lineman didn't confront ol' Dick Seymour after that blew my mind. A complete blatant cheapshot on the QB.
Christ being a Raiders fan must be brutal. Have fun with Carson Palmer. Maybe thats why you don't like the Bengals for them dumping that trash on your team for a 1st and 2nd rounder.

The Bengals are trash. They've beaten one team with a winning record the past 2 years, if they played a real schedule they wouldn't sniff the playoffs.

Even worse this team gets the Raiders second round pick, probably around 35-38th overall.

** WHAT TIME IS IT? **
IT'S PRYOR TIME BABI!!!
The Raiders are 3-8 and are not going anywhere. If the Niners can take a chance on Colin Kaepernick then why can't Oakland do the same with Pryor? The team's offensive line is terrible. With Pryor at the helm the Raiders have a QB who can at least buy some time for the passing game to develop or scramble to keep the drive alive and also keep the weak Raiders defense off the field.
At this point of the season there is nothing to lose, but the Raiders can prepare for next year and see what the team needs to go and get to support their version of Kaepernick - Go Raiders!

Hopefully the Raiders can trade down and accumulate some picks to make up for it.

I think Dalton is a big upgrade with a much higher ceiling. Pretty solid 2nd year QB --in my delusional opinion.
