I got a lot on the agenda so let's get to it. Normally, I would start with hockey, but a tragic incident occurred in Kansas City this morning is making headlines in the world of sports. Kansas City Chief's linebacker, Jovan Belcher shot and killed his girlfriend. He then went to Arrowhead Stadium and killed himself in front of team personnel. I can't get my head around this one people. So sad. I'm lost for words. Day 77 of the NHL lockout and nothing new to report. There was some OHL and NCAA hockey action last night. We'll start with the OHL. Kitchener defeated Windsor 3-2 in a six round shoot-out. Vermont defeated Maine 2-1 and Ohio State defeated Michigan State 1-0. Now to some baseball and there's lots of it. The biggest news in baseball is the s going signing of slugger, David Wright. The New York Mets have signed him to a huge eight-year, $138 million contract yesterday morning. He's going to have to hit a lot of home runs for that price. Tampa Bay traded Burke Badenhop to Milwaukee for Minor Leaguer, Raul Mondesi Jr. today. Atlanta has traded Tommy Hanson to the Los Angeles Angels for Jordan Walden. The New York Yankees have signed Mariano Rivera to a one-year contract. Washington has acquired Denard Span from Minnesota for Minor Leaguer Alex Meyer. Atlanta has boosted their offence by signing free agent, B.J. Upton to a five-year deal.
