Not quite the bloodbath I
thought it would be. There were some good moments and some bad
moments. The defense played better this week. Houston, Bryant and
Mitchell all had sacks. Phillip Adams got an interception and made some
good plays. Burris played well and the defensive line put pressure on
Manning. They played well in the red zone, managing to hold the Broncos
to 4 field goals and keeping the game from getting completely out of
hand.
But the usual 3rd and longs were converted by Denver, so in the end it wasn't enough.
The
offense started slow and, as we've become accustomed to, had to play
from behind from the very beginning. There were 6 dropped passes,
disconnect with the wide receivers and Palmer. And Palmer... well, he
also did what we're accustomed to, turning the ball over twice.
The
Raiders continued their third quarter woes getting outscored 13-0.
It's almost like they know this trend and choose to continue it.
The game could have been closer were it not for the turnovers, but hey - we didn't get completely blown out.
At least there's that.
Not
surprisingly, Darren McFadden re-injured his ankle late in the game and
the seriousness of the injury is unknown. This guy just can't stay
healthy.
Three games to play and we can begin looking forward to the draft.

I see what Stormy is talking about with the timing of Palmer's turnovers being the worst. How can you look like a hero with a 58 yard bomb, then make one of the worst throws I've ever seen right into the hands of Champ Bailey standing at the goal line the very next play? Easiest interception of Champ's career.
But naturally, I enjoyed the game.

It's absolutely maddening Outlaw. He sucks the momentum out of almost every game.
I will say this though - Manning looks like he hasn't missed a step. He seems to need the first half to kind of warm up in the games I've seen, but in the second half... watch out!

Hey the D played well but yeah the outcome was really never in doubt the entire night. Don't forget Denver's D is one of the best playing right now. And yes Peyton has not missed a step, but we saw that way back in S.D. on that Monday night.
Adams looks like he came to play and could be a bright spot looking to the future.
Now what do you do with McClain? Lose 7 million in cap and dump him, or try to make it work?
This team may need 5 years to rebuild.

I don't know how much of this is true, but the rumor is McClain's fallout was something similar to the effect of "I've got $6 million reason why I don't need to show up". If that's the truth, you dump him and lose the cap space. The Raiders are on the hook for the money regardless.

Character background checks are going to mean more than playing ability soon.

You shouldn't be too hung over after the D held them to field goals most of the night.

Rumor has it that there's a particular avid FanNation NBA T&R participant who failed to meet the mininum requirements in both those categories up in the CFL and was subsequently banned from the league and the country.

Yes it is finally time for Aaron to play.
What happens this week is all about draft picks. Do the Raiders give the Bengals the 34,35 or 36 pick in the draft for CP.
Considering cap space they might want to trade that number one for a handful of lower picks. Maybe play the same game N.E. always does and trade down all day for more picks and clean house and get rid of the McClains on the team.
